School Improvement Support

St Ives Activities 050

The Heath Academy Trust has a core purpose and vision which aims to provide a high quality, inclusive and effective learning environment producing an excellent performance from our children, and to engender a love of learning and a passion for excellence in all areas of school life. We will define a culture of high aspiration, to champion equality for all children and support clear lines of accountability, underpinned by strong, tailored school improvement and management systems within a professional learning environment.

Our improvement strategy is based on this vision and on a school’s capacity to improve.  As a Trust, children are at the heart of all we do; we aim to support all of our schools to provide the best possible outcomes and the Trust improvement strategy seeks to achieve this. The Trust recognises that there is much to celebrate in every school and looks to develop schools that are diverse and that reflect the communities they serve; individuality and creativity are celebrated.

We provide support to our schools in line with our School Improvement Support Strategy, which identifies how we will work with individual schools and the collective group of schools within the Trust. It aims to provide clarity around the expectations, values, roles and responsibilities and ways of working, in the pursuit of enabling all children to achieve their maximum potential.

We support improvement and development at all levels.

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) takes place at Trust schools in conjunction with Winchester University. Students apply through UCAS for places on our year long PGCE course. Placements take place within our Trust schools, covering Key Stage One and Two – see our dedicated Teacher Training page for more information.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are supported within our Trust in conjunction with South Central Hub.

Teaching staff are actively encouraged and supported to complete National Professional Qualifications within our schools.

Leadership and subject specific support is part of our ongoing school improvement work. Our Education Leaders can provide tailored school to school support and consultancy, sometimes as a result of funding from specific government grants.

Performance Management consultancy is available for headteacher performance management support for Local School Committees.

Our CEO/School Improvement Lead, Laura Crossley, is responsible for the school improvement strategies. Contact Laura on: l.crossley@heathacademytrust.co.uk.
